JOB DESCRIPTION PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The monitoring and evaluation officer will ensure and perform effective monitoring, verification and evaluation of the CESVI livelihood activities. Will be responsible for putting in place systems that will effectively contribute towards providing information about the project performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Support and ensure effective monitoring, verification and evaluation of the livelihood Project in Palabek.  Develop monitoring tools and questioners to assist Cesvi to best evaluate the effectiveness of its CBI programs in the settlement/ host communities – areas of implementation  Promote data collection, analysis, documentation and dissemination for learning purposes and informed decisions.
 Be fully familiar with the project proposal particularly its goals, objectives, and expected results/ impact  Perform monitoring visits to communities in which activities are undertaken. Gather monitoring information from both community leaders and individual beneficiaries to verify effectiveness of programs and verify local participation. Investigate any issues or problems related to program activities.  Support the implementation and on-going development of monitoring, evaluation and learning processes and systems to collect output and outcome level data.  Complete all monitoring and targeting reports in timely, accurate manner
 Perform targeting visits to potential areas of potential project activities. Administer targeting questionnaires and gather qualitative data from direct observation relating to the communities’ needs/ beneficiaries status.  Support project staff to provide quality and timely data required to generate programme reports and other documentation for programme.
 Analyse and compile project monitoring information to inform practice and produce reports and other documentation for different stakeholders/audience groups.  Support the analysis and triangulation of qualitative and quantitative monitoring data.  Ensure all M&E and learning activities uphold a commitment to gender equality, age sensitivity and the inclusion of marginalized groups.  Support in all the phases of the livelihood / market survey from development of tools, data collection and analysis and report writing. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  A University Degree in quantitative disciplines (Preferably Economics, Social science, statistics)  At least 2 years of work experience in related field.  Proven experience of building systems and developing staff capacity in M&E.  Ability to design monitoring and evaluation tools and instruments  Excellent analytical skills combined with proactive energetic approaches to problem solving.
