Cesvi is an international NGO mandated to work in emergency, recovery and development settings. It has been operational in Uganda since 2001, working mainly in the following sectors:
Food security interventions (agricultural inputs, agro and agro-pastoralist field schools);
Livelihoods and economic development (market rehabilitation, access to land, income generation initiatives);
Service delivery sectors including water, education, health (HIV/AIDs, sanitation and hygiene promotion).
Cesvi’s mission is to transform into action the concept of ‘human solidarity and social justice into humanitarian aid and development initiatives for the affirmation of universal human rights’.
Cesvi in partnership with Trocaire is implementing a livelihood program in the humanitarian context of Palabek settlement, Lamwo district. In respect of this intervention, CESVI is seeking to recruit 1 suitably qualified person to fill the position of a Driver.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of the position is to support the project staff with movements to ensure a smooth implementation of activities and ensure that all the transport needs of the program are met in a timely and professional manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to Cesvi mandated procedures and controls including but not limited to motor vehicles policies, travel policies and security protocols.
Transport staff to their various destinations while on duty. The vehicle assigned must not be driven to other destinations without proper authorisation.
Complete the log-book always whenever using any of the CESVI vehicles noting mileage at departure and arrival, reason for journey, route, fuelling date and quantity. You are also to record all vehicle service, repairs and maintenance in the respective log sheets.
Ensuring the validity of road license and insurance cover and to notify the logistics and administrative officer when they are at least 2 months to expiry
Ensure to park the vehicle at the office premises by 6pm and hand over the keys to your supervisor. Never should the vehicle be kept in an unauthorised place.
