Uganda: Food Distribution Point Team Leaders (3)

CESVI is an international NGO mandated to work in emergency, recovery and development settings. It has been operational in Uganda since 2001, working mainly in the following sectors:
 Food security interventions (agricultural inputs, agro and agro-pastoralist field schools);
 Livelihoods and economic development (market rehabilitation, access to land, income generation initiatives);
 Service delivery sectors including water, education, health (HIV/AIDs, sanitation and hygiene promotion).
Cesvi’s mission is to transform into action the concept of ‘human solidarity and social justice into humanitarian aid and development initiatives for the affirmation of universal human rights’.
Cesvi in partnership with WFP is going to implement the General Food Distribution program in Palabek settlement; Lamwo district from 1st July 2018. In respect of this intervention, CESVI is seeking to recruit 3 suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Food Distribution Point Team Leaders.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The purpose of the FDP Team Leader to ensure successful food distribution is carried at respective FDPs through prior planning, preparation of the beneficiaries through effective communication, personnel readiness, FDP supplies, food and equipment adequacy. Provide adequate accountability for all commodities and interventions at the FDP.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
 Ensure that the food distribution point is fully prepared and ready for the food distribution activity.
 Community mobilization and liaison with the local structures in the refugee settlement (FMC, Local Leaders etc) for a smooth and successful food distribution activity.
 Supervise food distribution at the scoping points to ensure right rations are provided to each house hold based on allocation.
 Confirm that all commodities arriving at the distribution centers are convoyed by Waybill. Ensure that the commodities are of correct quantities and quality as
manifested on the waybill. Document all quantities delivered stating quantities lost in transit and quantities damaged if any.
 Ensure that all the announcement, ration size, distribution rules, donor and CESVI logos, the rope, the scoops and the scales are present, visible and used correctly by the team members.
 Ensure an orderly and fair distribution of commodities using the approved ration sizes. With clear documentation by beneficiaries must acknowledge against their names on the beneficiary lists as proof that they received their allocated rations.
 Carry out post Distribution food reconciliation and comprehensive reporting.
 Supervise loading of commodities that are left over after distributions. Ensure that a return waybill is prepared for the left-over commodities to be returned to the warehouse.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
 A University Degree or Diploma from a recognized University.
 A relevant work experience will be a key asset
 Must have excellent planning, organizing skills, problem solving and experience in implementation of good systems to track commodities transactions and accountability.
 Requires excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills in English and the local language
 Proven ability in relating with communities and local governmental authorities.
 Able to work in demanding environment and adaptable to rapidly changing contexts.
