Project Officer - Ukraine _ NATIONAL opening

Cesvi, established in 1985, is a secular, independent nongovernmental organization, working for global solidarity and operating in the international cooperation and aid field. In the values guiding Cesvi, the moral principle of human solidarity and the ideal of social justice are transformed into humanitarian aid and development, reinforcing an affirmation of universal human rights. Today, Cesvi is directly present in more than 20 Countries with around 100 projects per year, aiming to serve the most in need. Cesvi source of funding are institutional donors (e.g.: UN Agencies, EC DG-ECHO and INTPA, Governments’ cooperation Agencies) and private donors (individuals, corporate and foundations).

JOB DESCRIPTION

The collaboration is scheduled to start in October 2022.

The position is national-only.

The main duty station will be Bucha, Kyiv. If the candidate resides in Kyiv oblast, the possibility of working remotely, will be considered upon the approval of the Project Manager. Contribution for the transportation costs will be considered.

REPORTING LINE

The Project Officer will refer to the Project Manager.

S/He will work in close collaboration with Cesvi staff in Ukraine.

SCOPE OF POSITION

Project Officer will support the implementation of the activities of the project “My Buchantsi- We of Bucha and the kindergartens of smiles”-Cesvi Project code: EUKR006

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Provide technical support for cash assistance-related activities
  • Support to define and implement the strategy and implementation modalities of the project’s activities
  • Ensure the proper monitoring of the project’ indicators, including through the development of monitoring tools
  • Ensure the proper administrative-financial management of the activities, ensuring that expenditures are in line with the financial plan
  • Ensure project reports are submitted timely according to Donor’s requests
  • Develop and maintain track records of projects’ outputs, supervise the activities, prepare reports to the Donor and Cesvi
  • Support and supervise the activities implemented by the local partner
  • Regularly participate in the Working Group meetings and other sectoral coordination fora
  • Support the monitoring process of the activities implemented by the local partner
  • Ensure the proper application of Donor and Cesvi’s procedures
  • Guarantee the respect of Cesvi Safeguarding procedures and standards
  • S/He will also provide inputs for the development of project proposals to expand Cesvi’s presence in the area.
  • Assist with the translation of documentation and simultaneity translation during the meetings with the local authorities, local partners and other stakeholders in the field

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Project Management, International Development/Humanitarian sector and/or Economic development or other relevant sectors
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in development/humanitarian projects funded by institutional donors;
  • Fair understanding of budget management, administrative and financial planning;
  • Proficiency in English, written and spoken
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Prior experience in implementing humanitarian projects addressed to Refugees, IDPs and Returnees
  • Proficiency in Italian – written and spoken

SKILLS:

  • High level of IT skills (Office package)
  • Good oral and written English
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work cooperatively
  • Good communication and leadership skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking and innovation
  • Solid diplomatic skills: the ability to maintain a good and professional relationship with staff members, local partner organisation, local authorities, and other stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative, resilient and able to work independently.
  • Highly result-oriented with the ability to manage workload and stress
  • Flexible and with a positive attitude

OTHER INFORMATION:

Duration: 12 months

Salary range: 1700 - 2000 € gross monthly salary
