Cesvi is an international NGO mandated to work in emergency, recovery and development settings. It has been operational in Uganda since 2001, working mainly in the following sectors:
 Food security interventions (agricultural inputs, agro and agro-pastoralist field schools);
 Livelihoods and economic development (market rehabilitation, access to land, income generation initiatives);
 Service delivery sectors including water, education, health (HIV/AIDs, sanitation and hygiene promotion).
Cesvi’s mission is to transform into action the concept of ‘human solidarity and social justice into humanitarian aid and development initiatives for the affirmation of universal human rights’.
Cesvi in partnership with Trocaire is implementing a livelihood program in the humanitarian context of Palabek settlement, Lamwo district. In respect of this intervention, CESVI is seeking to recruit 3 suitably qualified persons to fill the positions of Field Officers Livelihood.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of the position is to support the Livelihood project in Palabek settlement in the implementation of activities aimed at improving the self-reliance and resilience of the South Sudanese refugees and the host communities. Ensure successful management, planning, and implementation of all project activities and provide all the technical knowledge, skill innovations and guidance necessary for effective and successful implementation.
Duties:
 Mobilise, organise and sensitise beneficiaries, both refugees and host communities for project activities.
 Facilitate trainings on relevant technical areas including business development, nutrition, enterprise development, etc.
 Facilitate activities to improve food security, increased income and peaceful coexistence, including capacity building of Community Based Extension Workers and community leaders.
 Monitor, follow up and mentor beneficiaries’ performance and results, such as business /entrepreneurship management, livestock management, utilisation of start-up kits, attendance of vocational trainings, households income, etc.
 Support Cesvi in development of market information systems, market data collection, analysis and dissemination, price determination and setting, and accessing and utilising market information through different channels.

 Supervise and support vocational trainers in conducting trainings to the host communities and refugees.
 Provide technical capacity to the beneficiaries in businesses development and financial management.
 Support in the development of business plans and monitor their implementation.
 Support linkages of beneficiaries to markets and financial institutions.
 Conduct regular monitoring and provide technical advice to the persons of concern.
 Support in the development tools, collect, compile and analyse data from the field.
 Establish and maintain a filing system for the project and ensure that information is organized accordingly ensuring required levels of confidentiality and safekeeping all the project documents.
 Organize all the necessary equipment required for trainings before the training date.
 Ensure that protection and gender mainstreaming is applied to the program.
 Ensure peaceful coexistence among refugees and host communities as transversal value in all the activities.
 Write and submit weekly and monthly reports.
 Contribute to the development of work plans.
 Write and submit timely reports on project progress, and contribute with input to donor reports, including narrative and quantitative information.
 Fulfil any other related duties as may be requested by the Field Coordinator or Area Project Manager.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 A Diploma in development studies, agribusiness or any other related field.
 At least 2 years experience in the field of livelihood/ humanitarian project implementation and/ or IGA related fields.
 Detailed knowledge of the specific context, issues and challenges related to livelihood in Northern Uganda and or refugee settings. Experience of working in the region essential.
 Good writing and reporting skills with attention to detail and data accuracy. Experience in working with data and databases highly valued.
 Concern for accountability, transparency, quality and standards.
 Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
 Attention to detail, good time management and organisation.
 Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint).
 Fluent in English and Acholi/Luo.
 Knowledge of any other South Sudanese language is an advantage.
 Good motorcycle riding skills and valid riding permit.
