WORK CONTEXT
Cesvi has been working in Pakistan since 2005 while supporting the earthquake victims, floods-affected populations, conflict-affected IDPs, returnees, and host communities.
Cesvi has invested in development projects in remote regions in the country. In the emergency context, Cesvi developed expertise specifically in Health, WASH, Shelter & NFIs, Food Security & livelihood, and Disaster Preparedness and Risk Reduction (DRR) with protection, gender, and inclusion (PGI) as cross-cutting sectors.
CESVI has been working with different donors, such as ECHO, the EU, OFDA/USAID (now USAID-BHA), UNFAO, UNWFP, UNOCHA, UKAid/FCDO, Italian Cooperation, SDC, PIDSA, PHPF, and more. Since 2017, Cesvi Pakistan has been actively operating in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
In Sindh, Cesvi has executed multiple projects in districts like Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, and Tharparkar over the past decade, including flood relief and COVID-19 response efforts funded by ECHO in the last two years.
Currently, Cesvi Pakistan is implementing three projects funded by ECHO in Sindh, Balochistan, and Punjab.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Reports to: Head of Program
Number of Positions: 01 (One) (Pakistani Nationals Only)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of the Program and technical staff, the communication and outreach coordinator will work on the implementation of the following activities:
- Create and implement a comprehensive communications strategy and outreach plan that utilizes relevant channels, including online and social media, to disseminate information on program activities and their results
- Advise and counsel the staff on public relations techniques impacting program activities, including potential problems and opportunities in the various communities served
- Produce content for use on social media and manage these outlets
- Identify and work with outside contractors, such as photographers, videographers, and other communication professionals, to meet the program's goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
- Produce posters, signs, displays, media campaigns, etc., to support program activities
- Prepare internal and external reporting and communication pieces (success stories, case studies, etc.), ensuring high-quality, well-written, timely reports meeting donor and DRC requirements and coordinating closely with partners
- Manage all reporting deadlines, develop calendars for report development, and coordinate report compilation and review
- Research and maintain information on donor strategies and funding opportunities on the national level in conjunction with the program coordinators
- Maintain and update the map of all government and non-government organizations that are partners or potential partners in health eradication in collaboration with the government
- Gather and prepare communication materials (Project updates, reports, photos, video footage, stories, and quotes)
- Prepare various reports (weekly updates, monthly updates including e-briefings and case studies)
- Draft press briefings and press releases
- Prepare Project new letters, brochures, and other publicity materials by the program team
- Travel frequently to field projects to observe the activities proactively and share the report with supervisors
- Establish performance measures, monitor results, and evaluate the efficacy of the fund development program
- Have strong knowledge of relevant thematic areas for content development, website management, and designing social media campaigns for the organization
- I have strong knowledge of developing videos and audio for social media
- Any other job-related added task (s) assigned by the supervisor or senior management
REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in social science, development studies, or any other relevant position. An in-depth understanding of gender, age, and other sociocultural factors is required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional in a similar position in NGOs/INGOs/UN Agencies Working within the context of gender-related technical programming. This includes gender equality, prevention of gender-based violence, women’s empowerment and women’s education
- Superior organizational skills and ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, fluid environment
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build links with staff, partners, government officials, donors, and other relevant stakeholders
- Creative and flexible with problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy
- Ability to confidently represent oneself to high-level officials
- Confident and proficient in using MS Office, proficiency in Sindhi and English language (written and spoken) is mandatory
Contract Duration
18 months (extendable)
Salary Range
200,000 to 250,000 (PRKs/month)
