Review the short and long range plans for delivery of project services, and provide guidance to CISP’s Health and Nutrition staff in management of immediate and future strategies for effective project impact.
To advance existing partnerships with UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO, OCHA and NGOs and INGOS.
Lead program development opportunities in coordination with the Regional Coordinator related to Health and Nutrition, including ongoing assessment of current Health and Nutrition needs in Somalia; provision of technical input and budgetary input for new program design; and engagement with key donors regarding health, nutrition, and other related programs.
Support and review CISP Health and Nutrition monitoring systems and record keeping methods that support routine, interagency, and donor reporting. Provide a summary of recommended areas of improvement, and lead an action plan to evolve and make positive systems improvements.
Consider existing capacity building plans with the technical team for enhancing skills in local health providers on delivery of primary care, Mobile Health Clinics, etc. Suggest additional skills training programs and systems for national and community health providers (e.g. TBAs, midwives, etc.) and support the Health and Nutrition technical team in establishing the training plan within budget resources.
Identify potential nutrition and health projects for development and lead on the concept note or proposal development and fundraising for them.
Provide positive feedback and mentoring to CISP’s Health and Nutrition team to help them to develop their project management, team leadership, logistics planning, reporting, and systems capacity.
Provide new resources (e.g. worksheets, tools) that help to build CISP team capacity for managing projects, with training on best use of the systems and refreshers as needed, on the job.
Provide active participation at Health, Nutrition, Food security Clusters and at health and nutrition technical working groups.
